The Portside and Starboard quarter davit boats are referred to as 'Whaleboats', an insteresting article here:

Pack 6 contains the construction of the port and starboard quarter davit Whaleboat's, the stern davit boat (Captain's Gig) is supplied later on as is the main deck boat which is located on skid beams above the waste area.
Note: The ship's boats varied through the years in type and number with different Commanders., for example the boat manifest of Commodore William Bainbridge indicates an 8th ships boat, likely a small Punt used almost exclusively to paint the sides of the ship. This was stored keel up on the skid beams between the launches.
The ModelSpace USS Constitution kit reflects how the Ships boats are displayed on the real ship and in line with other kit manufacturer's, in having the quarter & stern davit boats and main deck boat on display.
