I finally got around to get the full kit of this great and historic car.

Since this is a full kit I am building it out of sequence. I focus on the things that I change from the original kit. I used as many original pictures as well as ideas from the other fantastic building blog's here.

First thing I did was to assemble and modify the front brakes.

File Attachment(s):
brake step 1.jpg (317kb) downloaded 103 time(s).
brake step 3.jpg (274kb) downloaded 74 time(s).
brake step 4.jpg (355kb) downloaded 64 time(s).
brake step 5.jpg (279kb) downloaded 63 time(s).

The next thing I did was to modify the intercooler balancer tubes adding hose clamps and some shrink tube.

It's a good idea to improve the basic kit, if I can give you a tip try to be careful about the accuracy of the changes

thanks for the feedback Maurizio. Yeah, there are obviously many challenges, specially with color and scale. reference pictures from different sources show different colors, specially on carbon parts. This will be a bit of an experiment but I hope it will turn out OK. the basic model is good and the 1/8 scale is a bit more forgiving to work with compared with the usual 1/24 and 1/8 kits.

I am by the way struggling (as of no clue) how to insert pictures rather than attaching them as a file. Any tips?

Hi Monzaandre, Nice start to a great model.BigGrin
As far as uploading the images goes, I find that if you can resize the files to about 150kB then upload by ticking the box in the "Post a reply" window then it should work fine.
Cheers
Malc.

I repainted the air ducts into a gray/black and drilled out the plastic screws that have been molded into the parts, replacing them with some foto etched parts.

I also added carbon decals for the mono, I used a champagne gold / black smoke as the base color.

assembled. I removed and replaced the caliper braided hose with a more scale size one (will show that in a later picture).
