I am looking at painting an rc car with a lexan body in the same colours as the Marlboro sponsorship. I will be getting Tamiya paint but was wandering if the colour I need is fluorescent orange or fluorescent red. What colour is the best match?

Hi steve, the correct Malboro tamiya color is TS36 fluorecent red.

This is a pic of Maurizio67 that re painted the body with the right tint.

For white parts maurizio used the white primer and then he sprayed gloss top coat. The white is perfect matched with real car.

The Tamiya TS range is not suitable for polycarbonate/lexan bodyshells, only the PS range is suitable and they don't do the same colour in the PS range.

Tamiya PS-24 is fluorescent orange which might be close depending on which colour it's backed with though could be too bright.

The red looks about as close as you'll get, maybe test it with a white and a black backing

My personal opinion, but I think you're messing with Ts and Ps McLaren's bodywork is not polycarbonate ..

If you read the first post, it says "I am looking at painting an rc car with a lexan body in the same colours as the Marlboro sponsorship."

He as asking for paint which is suited for use with a lexan (polycarbonate) body - the Tamiya PS range is lexan specific which is what I noted - "The Tamiya TS range is not suitable for polycarbonate/lexan bodyshells, only the PS range is suitable and they don't do the same colour in the PS range."

He is painting a lexan body in McLaren colours...
