Karl, Ive been ding some homework on this kit and have decided to go with the Amati version, to be honest Ive not seen the Mantua one, I have seen the AL on ebay but I didnt like the choice of wood.

Ive been watching some WIP over at MSW of the AL and Amati, Amati wins me every time.
Do you still have your in the loft? why dont you dig it out and do some scratching?

This is the Amati kit

Seems like i missed this thread. I've just posted a similar question. This does seem a good idea considering the length of time between parts. Keep looking at the HM Brig Supply by caldercraft, but didn't want to spend another £120 on another model.

Mind you, birthday soon, so could always put it on my wish list Love

That Andreas Miniatures Nelson (bottom pic) is really something special and would look the business alongside a model of the Victory.

Unfortunately, so is rest of the AM range of Napoleonic 54mm figurines... Crying

Since uniforms of this period are generally quite colourful they should be a joy to paint.

Are you guys trying to bankrupt me?!! Lathes, 1/35th scale Schnellboots and now drop dead georgeous minis....

*shakes penny jar*

A copy of Big issue anyone??
Schnellboots on back burner

Tools.

BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin Well, after a lot of procrastination (dithering actually), i have finally taken the plunge and ordered another boat to build to learn on while i build the Victory. BigGrin

The model i have chosen is Caldercraft's HM Brig Supply, from Cornwall Model Boats.Drool http://www.cornwallmodel...rcraft_brig_supply.html
My reasoning is simple:Suitable for beginners, not too big,Caldercraft's reputation, good instructions, and plenty of help-both on this forum & Model Ship World. Cool

Can't wait....getting impatient now....Drool Drool (twiddle thumbs)...

One of my something in between's is the Titanic Lifeboat. Part one of which has finally arrived. Is anyone else doing this ? Can anyone tell me what they got in part one ? I have received a cut sheet with the keel and ribs and a bundle of strakes. There is nothing that tells you which bits you should have, and the online instructions only give the complete parts list. I figure I might get an answer faster on this forum than from customer services.

current builds : Lancaster 1/32 (Hachette)
Revell USS Kearsarge
Titanic Lifeboat

I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Cheers Karl, that will be really helpful and nice job too. The problem I have right now is that having ordered it in 3 parts, they do not tell you what parts you should have with the first delivery, so, no way of knowing if anything is missing.Huh The e mailed instructions take you as far as the planking, but no keel parts are included and as this is clinker built the keel goes on before the planking. Confused
Anyway, many thanks for replying and hopefully I'll be able to end up with a model as good as yours. BigGrin

thanks for the kind words, the keel is always first, followed by the ribs, followed by the planking,in that order, good luck.
