Towards the end of the build I suppose is the time we will receive the main decals for the body work, who's thinking of giving them a clear coat? If so how would you go about it. Would you spray the parts separately or just spray the finished model. Normally on a normal build I would just spray the body shell separate but this parkwork model lends it's self to be done slightly differently. Ie getting parts at different times, and maybe the finish on the plastic could be different. What do you guys think?

Not sure if this would be of any help, but when I was into static aircraft models I used the micro sol system to affix the decals.
I have seen this used to great effect on natural metal finished planes.
If you look in Scale Aircraft Modeller you can find several suppliers.

I've used the micro sol before on other models and it is good stuff. But wanted to give the body work a good glossy finish. Why would a gloss coat damage the silver paint skiddy? I've used gloss on paintwork many times and it's had no adverse effect on the paint before. I can't see there being a problem.

I've clear coated the front bridge wing and it does react with the chrome silver paint. Used Halfords clear coat, which I always use and it made the chrome appear to have a metallic flake effect. You can clear coat the red parts however.
