Hi All, As a Jag owner I couldn`t let this go by. Just wish I could afford a real E-type. I`ve got up to issue 24 delivered and thought I`d make a start. The first thing that really impressed me was the "Growler" badges on the front bar and steering wheel. So here we go, just a small starter for you: Pic 1: The front bar with Growler badge. Pic 2: Oil filler cap on the rocker cover. Pic 3: Rocker shafts installed in cylinder head. Pic 4: Rocker covers in place. Pic 5: Growler badge in centre of steering wheel. Finally the start of the first wheel. Fumbled a bit with the first layer of spokes, but soon realised that if you fit spokes seperated by a gap it held the wheel straight. This will help when fitting the rest of the second layer of spokes. Just my method that works for me. Arrows show where I`ve started the second layer of spokes. Pic 6 That`s all for now, more soon. Happy building. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Good to see another E-Type underway, great start
Two Jag's reminded me of the former deputy PM John Prescott, often nicknamed "two Jag's" because of owning 2 Jag's, though recently downsized to 1 to help save the planet

Thanks for all the interest. Also good to see the "Two Jags" title wasn`t missed. Though not sure it was all down to saving the planet, more the embarressment that "WE" the public were paying for them both. Anyway on with this update. I`m working on the wheel a little at a time, so will update on that at a later time. Issue 6-8 deal with building the drivers door: Pic 1 shows the outer door handle fitted. Pic 2 The window is fitted. Pic 3 The door hinge. Pic 4 The inner door surround. Pic 5 The inner panel has three handles fitted. Pic 6 Inner door panel and two trim strips are fitted. No problems/issues with this, all came together very easily. In issue 9 the seat back and base are fitted to the seat frame. Pic 7 May need to play around with the seat base a bit at a later date to get it to lay a bit flatter, we`ll see. That`s all for this update, see you soon. Thanks for all the views and opinions. Time for the next update. Issue 10: starts with the assembly of the upper manifold and throttle linkage. Pic 1 Issue 11: adds the lower manifold and carb suction chambers. Pic 2 Now, issue 11 carries on with: Petrol feed pipe, air balance pipe and air cleaner. In my enthusiasm forgot to get a pic. In my poor defence. Issue 12: fits the starter, distributor and the afore mention manifold to the right hand engine block. Pics 3+4 (side-on and above) Next update soon. Hi All, Gradually working my way into this build and now up to issue 13. Thanks to Alan, Al and Dave for your kind comments. So, this update will cover issues 13 + 14. Issue 13: Fit the filter head to the right hand engine block. Pic 1 Fit the model`s battery box to the left hand engine block. Pic 2 Issue 14: Construct and fit the ignition coil to the cylinder head. Pic 3 Construct the front plate, with pulleys and dynamo. Pic 4 Issue 15 is complete and update coming soon, but for now pics below. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

As promised here`s issue 15, The manifolds are fitted to the left-hand engine block.Pic 1 The rev counter connector is fitted to the end of the cam cover, (watch out for the carpet gremlins with this piece, it`s tiny). Pic 2 Fit the cylinder head to the left-hand engine block.Pic 3 Attach the front pulley plate and then combine both sides of the engine block. Pic 4 Now we add some real detail by connecting the coil lead and ignition leads to the distributor. Pic 5 Then the plug leads to the cylinder head. Pic 6 It`s now looking like an engine. Issues 16 - 18 build the left door which is a copy of the right, so I`ll post a pic when I pick up again at issue 19. Until then here`s the pic`s for this update. Hi All, So here`s the next update. As stated before the left door is just a duplicate of the right, so just one pic. Pic 1 From here the build moves to the front frame that will house the engine and have the front suspension mounted to it. Issue 19 supplies the right hand inner frame. Issue 20 supplies the upper and lower wishbones for the suspension on the same side and the result is shown in Pic 2. Issue 21 supplies the left hand inner frame. Issue 22 supplies the upper and lower wishbones for the suspension on the same side. Both sides of the frame are shown in Pic 3. Issue 23 adds the supplied front crossmember and is shown in Pic 4. Issue 24 adds two brace bars to the right hand side of the frame shown in Pic 5. To come in the next update: More additions to the front frame. Then adding the the front disc`s and brakes along with the shock absorbers. Happy Building Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All, This is the last update for now, as waiting for next part. So: Issue 25 fits the left hand upper and diagonal brace. This is a duplication of the right hand side. Pic 1 Issue 26 you fit the steering rack bracket to the front of the main frame (arrowed)in Pic 2 and the left hand lower brace (arrowed):note the "L" on the brace. Pic 3 Issue 27 you make up the the brake disc, brake caliper and and right hand hub. Pic 4 This assembly is then added to the upper and lower wishbones. Pic 5 The final part for this issue is to fit the shock absorber. Pic 6 Issue 28 is a duplication of issue 27 fitting the same parts to the opposite side of the main frame. Overall view in Pic 7. So that`s it all up to date. Other things to do to fill in the time, but will also have some time to do more to the wheel. Happy building Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
