Many thanks for the warm reception....I have started to accumulate various tools in preparation and was wondering if anyone could recommend best type of the following to use.

Wood adhesive
Metal adhesive
filler putty for wood
filler putty for metal

I have looked into various types and somewhat surprised as to the extent of variety available, so if in doubt...ask the ones that have been there already...many thanks in advance for any assistance Confused

BigGrin Hi and welcome to the forum and have fun with your build.

As for your questions:-

Any good aliphatic wood glue will be fine for the job.

For etch use superglue to attach and for larger metal structures any good epoxy should do the trick.

For filling metal and wood I generally use P38 filler. Another trick is to fill the smaller cracks/spaces with wood glue then start sanding the saw dust mixes with the glue and seals the gap.

BigGrin After final sanding is done seal the hull inside and with a coat of epoxy resin [the laminating type is best but dont use any cloth] seal the outer planking with sanding sealer [ a couple of coats] sand and then use any good auto undercoat on the outside. Sand this back to the wood this will pick up any dinks that need filling. Once that is done get a undercoat paint that has a filler mixed with it and give the hull a couple of coats and again sand to give a smooth finish

Take a look at my build for how I finished the hull link below, you may find posts around #161 to be of interest:-
