Just realised that I have never posted in this area before.

So I think it's about time you knew a little more about me.

My name is Gary, I started modelling aged 8 using a Stanley knife and still have all my fingers. My first model was an Airfix 1:72 Buccaneer aircraft that had a bit of glue on the wings and canopy, wasn't painted as I was too impatient, but all the bits that were supposed to move did move.

My favourite subject is SF - not to be confused with "Sci-Fi" or "Syfi" - but proper science fiction. Something with a real message like "Silent Running" (One of the biggest and best ecological disaster movies ever made, in my opinion.) or "Forbidden Planet" staring Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, and Leslie Nielson.

I have quite a large collection of models from over the years, some of which may appear on this site now or in the future.

Models such as this

Drone 1 ("Dewey") from the aforementioned "Silent Running". Model by Destiny models.

Or these

Titan Find's "Liberator" from "Blake's 7"

"Scorpio" from the same series and manufacturer

By Harry, she's BIG. The "London"

I also have a rather rare beast which I will post later on - can't get the picture at the moment.

And I have a HUGE interest in 1:1 scale film and TV prop kits. This translates into a load of Phasers, Klingon disruptors, a couple of "Lawgiver" handguns from different generations of "Judge Dredd", and all sorts of other resin guns.

OK, so here is my "Rare Beast".

A Martin Bower original.

Martin was the lead modeller in the team that made the rig the Nostromo was pulling in the first "Alien" film. He was also the modeller who was asked to re-make the models for the modern version of "Century 21" magazing - TB2, TB1, etc, Stingray, and a whole lot more - and is the copyright holder on the "Liberator" handguns from "Blake's 7"

The model is made from a number of different models. Some of which I recognise. The cockpit and the two pods running flush with the fuselage are from the "Thunderfighter" from "Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century". The flat-ish nose is a couple of warship hulls placed deck to deck on their sides.

And some of my other stuff.
