Here is my latest update, which completes pack 10, upto stages 36 through 39. Adding the starboard wing rib strengtheners, fuselage strengtheners, and cockpit formers. The hardest part is lining up the fuselage strengtheners where it will later attach to the wing. Not because of any difficulty, purely because of the strange angle that they sit! They don't sit flush all their length on the fuselage, which seems strange but is actually how it should be.

That is some very nice tidy work. Coming on great.

Well, i can't believe it's been so long since i worked on this model!
With parts delays due to Covid19, i thought i might as well crack on a bit with this one. Here are the results of Pack 11, which are stages 40 to 43.

The parts for Stage 40 are not used yet, so store carefully away. A few more previously supplied rib supports are added. Stage 41 parts are not used yet either (is it just me, or is that annoying!), so it's time to tidy up the wings. The wing projections are removed, and the wings are sanded smooth. I have included a photo of the wings and fuselage to give an idea of size. And yes, that is an A1 cutting mat!!!

Stage 42 sees construction of the seat. It's a bit basic, and even once painted it doesn't improve it much.

This completes Pack 11.

Hi Gray,

Bit of a heads up for you on the nose/engine frame.

I have built this section and it tapers from the rear frame forward by a couple of mm at each frame. I started with the side square to the rear frame and it worked out ok, you just have to make sure you don`t allow it to square up as you build forward to the nose.

So, have managed a little more on this build. Pack 13 sees the construction of the engine frame and we finish off the port aileron.

As already mentioned, i was worried that if you mount the sides of the engine frame at 90 degrees, it wouldn't sit square at the front, and also put strain on the joints. So i built mine with a slight taper, hopefully meeting at the front with the correct angle. So far so good.

The 3 rear frames are fitted with glue to only one side to enable fitting. Once they are all in place, we can then glue the other side. The front-to-back re-enforcements are then fitted in place. This completes Pack 13.

Pack 14 continues in much the same vein, and then we reach the half-frames. This is where i encountered another issue. These frames sat way to proud of the recesses. After another chat with Delboy271155 (thanks Del) to get his take on it (he's further on than i am) i chamfered the edges to fit and lower the overall height of the frame. While inserting the front one, one of the support beams snapped . Figuring it will not be visible and therefore spoil the finished model. i cut it flush and proceeded with the assembly, but you can see what i mean in the last photo.

Stage 53 is where we cut the supports to open up the top of the engine bay.
And this brings us up-to-date.
