The first front wheel has now been half assembled. Each wheel is clearly going to get easier as 'practice' takes place. Looking forward to more parts. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

The rest of the front wheel all done, and the tyre fitted. I know there are some who are having difficulties assembling the wheels but TBH, I'm not having problems. For me, the hardest part is getting the tyre onto the rim. A good 2-3 minute soaking in VERY hot water does the trick though. A bit of advice - fit the rim into the tyre from the rear so if you need to 'urge' the tyre over any part of the rim with a teaspoon handle or whatever, you won't cause any damage to the outer face of the wheel. Sorry - no idea about that one so I can't help. These kind of questions really ought to be in general discussion though. Roy

I admire the wiring harness detail you are adding; may I ask what did you use to wrap the wiring to make the harness?

The harness was made by using white fabric surgical tape - any chemist sells it. It's very thin, very sticky.
Lay a strip out on your cutting mat, colour it black with a marker pen. Cut into strips about 5mm wide and then wrap diagonally along the length of your wires...
Roy.

Only a small update here. The two floor panels have been screwed together and the front end assembly placed just to see how it all looks. Next job - repaint the underside of the floor panel(s) so they are the same colour as the body. E types originally had the entire shell painted the body colour which included underneath. The only time the underside was black was when a customer chose the 'optional extra' of underseal. Hence - the majority of E Types began rusting away long before their time as back in the '60's, nobody thought about rust prevention and for most, underseal was a waste of money as they didn't plan to keep the cars long enough to make it worthwhile. Nowadays, E Type enthusiasts would be horrified if the underside of their prize 'show' car was black! As an aside, I've made two new seats (yes, again...) in resin and trimmed them in tan. That's the seats FINALLY done - honest... Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Thanks Mark. I've primed the floor panel and given it a first shot of Jaguar racing green. It's the correct colour, mixed at a paint factor near me, according to genuine Jaguar paint codes etc. You can see the panel has only had one layer of green so far. Due to the numerous raised and recessed panels and bits, getting an 'all over' coat isn't possible in one or two passes without getting pools and runs. I'll leave it for 24 hours and give it another few coats which will (hopefully) result in a nice green underside to the car. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

I'm trailing a little bit behind with the E Type as I've been working away on the Porsche 911, and completing the Mustang. Time to get back to the Jaaaag. The floor panels have finally been given a couple more coats of green to match the body. The rear diff cage etc will be next. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
