Now the tunnel top and speaker panels have been leather trimmed and the various brown plastic areas that will show have been painted.

The top 'ridge' along the tunnel top edges were filed off before covering in leather.

Looking forward to more interior parts...

Roy.

Thanks chaps.

I'm back on this one for a little while as I've got a new box of bits...

I've completed the centre console, repainted the gear lever gaiter to match my leather after removing the rather sharp seam line across the top.
Handbrake lever space was blackened so it doesn't look out of place when assembled.

The dashboard had a big makeover...

Surface detail filed off to start with.
Then covered in very thin black leather.
New bezels were made from solder wire.
I was going to paint them black but I quite like the little bit of extra 'bling' it brings so silver they will stay.

I made my own dash decals after taking photo's of my friends car and cleaning up the images in Photoshop.
A bit more lifelike and rather different to the kit ones.

The cubby box has been carpeted, as the real ones are flock lined.
Dash top roll also leather trimmed now.
All looking quite pretty.

Apologies - LOTS of pictures.

Onwards and upwards...

Many thanks Mark.

The rear deck is now in.
I taped the two panels together on the back, and covered it all with leather.
It was easy then to gut the panel out using a new blade. It's surprising how quickly leather blunts a knife.

The trim strip locating holes were pushed through with the tip of a blade and then the strips were pressed in...

Fantastic work, great idea to photo the real thing and resize to fit. Your pictures could easily be mistaken for the real thing. Loving your work.

A little more today.

I backed the speaker grilles with black tape as it occurred to me that once complete, you can see right through the tunnel.

I've repainted the inner rear panels to match the rest of the interior and they are now fitted.
I still need to paint the inner wheel arches and fuel filler area...

Brilliant stuff Roy. I'm a newbie and got to stage 50 when I was inspired by your total attention to detail. So......started disassembly to add some detail. Apologies as I plagiarised some of your detail as the detail is authentic. I'll post a new topic with photos and would really appreciate your comments.
It must be really satisfying having a genuine vehicle for reference. Keep up the great work!BigGrin

Well - TBH - I'm very, very happy if anyone gets any ideas from my 'plastic bashing'.

Don't even think about apologising for using any of my ideas.
That's exactly what this forum is all about.

Have fun!!!

Apologies - I've been waiting for parts...

The recent batch has been pretty easy and not much to add to.
Bonnet now pretty much sorted, and I think, next we have the last wheel.
