Issue 97

Roof interior

Parts supplied:-

Roof interior.



Take the body assembly and the left door. Line the door hinge up with the holes in the body and close the door. Place the body on its side making sure you protect the paint work then use an MD 13 screw provided in issue 96 to fix the door to the body.

Test the fit of the door to the body and adjust if it is needed.

Repeat the above for the right hand door.

You can now test fit the roof lining if you like but do not fit it yet.

Issue complete, carefully store any remaining parts in an issue labelled bag.

Issue 98

Sun visors and rear view mirror

Parts supplied:-

Right sun visor
Left sun visor
Mirror arm
Mirror
Screws


Take the roof interior from stage 97 and the two sun visors. Take the right sun visor and insert the rod at the wide end into the hole on the edge of the roof then clip the other end into the centre of the roof. Do the same for the left visor and then check they fold back and forwards.

Next take the rear view mirror and insert the mirror arm into the 'D' shaped hole in the mirror rear. Insert the mirror assembly into it mounting hole in the front centre of the roof lining and fix it in place using a MP05 screw.

Line up the roof assembly with the four post holes and fix it in position by pushing on the four posts on the rear of the roof lining.

Issue complete, carefully store any remaining parts in an issue labelled bag.

Issue 99

Rear skirt and fog lights

Parts supplied:-

Rear fog lights
lenses
Skirt

Take the body and chassis assembles and place them next to each other making sure the wing mirror is protected from damage. Join cables 07,08,09 and 10 to the sockets on the chassis then and make sure you tuck them into the cable holder. Now take the body and place it onto the chassis working from the rear making sure the fuel tank tube is in its correct place. Tuck any loose wires into the recess between the the engine and dashboard.

Once the body and chassis are correctly lined up turn the assembly over and place two MD14 screws into the two holes under the boot. Next screw four MD06 screws into the central section of the chassis then finally two more MD06 screws into the front of the chassis next to the bumper. Check the doors ,bonnet and boot function correctly.

Now take the fog lights and insert a lens into the front of both parts. Next take the rear skirt and insert a fog light into either fog light holder. When in the correct position use a MP01 screw to hold it in position screwing it in from the back of the skirt. Do the same for the other fog light.

Issue complete, carefully store any remaining parts in an issue labelled bag.

Issue 100

Rear bumper and licence plate.

Parts supplied:-

Rear licence plate
rear bumper
screws


Take the skirt from issue 99 and line up the two pins on the rear of the licence plate with the two holes in the skirt. Fix the licence plate to the skirt using two MP03 screws then fix the skirt to the rear of the body assembly using four MD02 screws.

Take the bumper and insert the four pins into the skirt and push home then check the pins on the two arms are located in the correct position.

Open the hood and remove the battery cover from the battery box. Insert three LR44 or AG13 1.5V battery's [Not included] into the battery box making sure the positive end faces the spring holder then replace the battery box cover.

Open the drivers door and push the switch on the dash board down this should make the front and rear lights come on.

Pushing the brake pedal will make the rear lights shine more.

Pushing the accelerator will make the engine rev up.

Pushing the cobra button in the centre of the steering wheel will sound the horn.

Congratulations you have completed the assembly of your 1967 Shelby GT-500.
