Hi Shipmates,
My trust in the magazine is in the borderline now...
Another fore lower mast issue regarding the binding...
Three different info, three different result...
Info Nr. 1 - Picture from magazine
The lowest binding is relatively far from the mast ring, approx in half distance between ring and the bottom end of the cheek.
Info Nr. 2 - Mast plan
It's much closer to the ring however still haf way between the ring and the cheek bottom.
Info Nr. 3 - Follow the 1:1 plan (with the dimensions shown)
If I follow the same spacing of the binding from the cheeks for the lower three bindings then the lowest binding will end up very close to the ring.
The incorrect scaling of the assembled mast plan (see my previous post from my build diary, see link below) also doesn't help to judge where the binding supposed to be.
I thing I'll go for my instinct an use the same spacing (Info Nr. 3), with a tiny bit cheat to get the bottom 3 closer to each other (1mm less distance) to avoid being look ugly and being too close to the ring.
Will anything be attached to the bottom of the mast which could be disturbed by the lower bindings if they are too close to the bottom ring???
Please advise if I'm doing it incorrectly...
Thanks.
