I am building two of these Jaguars, one for me and one for my Grandson.

The former will be painted Arun cream with red interior the latter in the BRG. I find it very useful to build in tandem as any mistakes can be corrected on the first car and avoided on the second. For me building screw together models is easier than Plastic kits which are really my passion of many years.

My disability is MS which has made it impossible to use my left hand so I have to find other ways of holding things together.

As soon as I can I will post pics of my work.

Good to see how it's going but you still need to make your images smaller.
The one posted is around 350k which is why it doesn't show and members need to download it to see it.

They need to be no bigger than 140k - ideally around 130k.
Then they will show in your post.

Roy.

Having spent a miserable few weeks over Christmas and New Year its quite a relief to get back to my work bench

I have several projects on the go, 1/24 Mosquito from Airfix and of course the two Jaguars. Having got up to the plastic chassis theres not much else to do.

One question I should like to ask is Why do these cars have so many different sizes of screws, it seems to me that it could be completed with maybe 2 sizes, as Ive found by using a small set of 'Dead end Taps'

I am using Halfords Acrylic paint to change the colour of this E type and the finish straight from the can over primer is quite pleasing.

I intend to put a very fine wash over the engine bay to create that used appearance using Vellejo acrylic which will be airbrushed over.

I assume that the chassis tray that come in two parts 42-43 will form the floor of the cabin in which case I will cover in leather to match the seats, probably red.

Very nice work.

Full credit to you going for a colour change.

Cannot wait to see what it ends up like but a cream colour would be a favourite of mine.

Hope it all continues well.
Happy Modelling

Looking really good. Love the colour.

I've got another one growing in my stash for the future and that will be primrose yellow with red trim.

Keep it coming.

Roy.

I have progressed to painting the floor of the Etype and building the rear suspension.

The bonnet has been painted and is awaiting polishing. Im very pleased with the finish on all the parts I have completed.

I have noticed that the the drive shafts are offset which can cause a problem to getting the camber right when building the rear suspension. Another small gripe is the pins for fitting the suspenion swinging arms, it would have been better to have a shaft with nuts that run completely through the Cradle as per the real thing.

I am now awaiting parts so can go no further
