This will be my half of the RAF100 anniversary tribute build with Andy building the Sopwith Snipe completing the other half.

Firstly a little bit about the subject.

The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine, canard-delta wing, multirole fighter.[ The Typhoon was designed originally as an air superiority fighter and is manufactured by a consortium of Alenia Aermacchi (Leonardo since 2017), Airbus, and BAE Systems that conducts the majority of the project through a joint holding company, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH formed in 1986.
The aircraft's development effectively began in 1983 with the Future European Fighter Aircraft programme, a multinational collaboration among the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Disagreements over design authority and operational requirements led France to leave the consortium to develop the Dassault Rafale independently. A technology demonstration aircraft, the British Aerospace EAP, first took flight on 6 August 1986; the first prototype of the finalised Eurofighter made its first flight on 27 March 1994. The aircraft's name, Typhoon, was adopted in September 1998; the first production contracts were also signed that year.
Political issues in the partner nations significantly protracted the Typhoon's development; the sudden end of the Cold War reduced European demand for fighter aircraft, and debate existed over the aircraft's cost and work share. The Typhoon entered operational service in 2003; it has entered service with the air forces of Austria, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and Saudi Arabia. The air forces of Oman, Kuwait and Qatar are export customers, bringing the procurement total to 599 aircraft as of 2016.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a highly agile aircraft, designed to be a supremely effective dogfighter in combat.Later production aircraft have been increasingly better equipped to undertake air-to-surface strike missions and to be compatible with an increasing number of different armaments and equipment, including Storm Shadow and Brimstone. The Typhoon had its combat debut during the 2011 military intervention in Libya with the UK's Royal Air Force and the Italian Air Force, performing aerial reconnaissance and ground-strike missions. The type has also taken primary responsibility for air-defence duties for the majority of customer nations.

The Revell kit has been around since 2009 and generally considered to be more accurate than the Trumpeter one although they both have good and bad points. There are several aftermarket accessories available and some will be used on the build as well as aftermarket decals which will provide a more fitting scheme for the tribute.

Cool Nice looking kit you’ve got there. It’s good to see another Delta wing build. Think you’ll enjoy it’s build as much as we will watching Love

Very nice choice of subject Al and in 1:32 scale it'll be quite a large model I should imagine? I have Revell's 1:48 single seat Eurofighter in my stash and even in that smaller scale it is quite a size.

Good luck with your build, I'm sure it'll turn out to be a cracker! Drool ThumpUp

Starting to build the seat and cockpit but found it a little lacking in detail so have decided to remedy that with the Aires upgrade and while I was at it I also got the undercarriage bay and the exhaust set and some Airscale cockpit gauge/screen decals.

As a lot of builders of this kit have already discovered the canopy and windshield suffer from having a seam line down the middle of them so some work will be needed to hopefully clean it up sufficiently.

More soon

Nice start Al, can’t believe they put a seam line in the place it is. I’m sure you’ll sort it out though.ThumpUp

Great to see this project get off the ground Al (excuse the pun!) will be following all the way and good luck. ThumpUp

Once you have polished that seam out with some Micro-mesh (working in ever finer grades up to a final 12000 grit), just dip the canopy in some 'Johnson's Klear' liquid floor polish (now sold as Pledge 'Future' I believe), then wick off the excess with a paper towel touched to the edge and that seam will completely disappear. It will also leave your canopy crystal clear to show all of that lovely cockpit detail.

Hope that helps? ThumpUp

Made some progress on this and have removed some plastic detail from the wheel bays in order to fit the more detailed Aires ones. The second pic shows what undercarriage bays come with the kit and the third shows the new bays attached. The next couple of pics show the Aires cockpit [lighter colour] in comparison with the Revell one. I have had to modify the the kit slightly by removing some plastic in order to accommodate the cockpit coaming. The last pic shows the Pilot figure from Scalemates who will pose next to his TyphoonLOL for the the rest of the build I will refer to him as RupertLOL LOL
