Thanks guys, appreciated....Cool Cool

Today I reduced the size of the axle strips and round of each end to fit the wheels, this was done using a lathe. Holes were then drilled in each end to accommodate the wheel locking pin when we come to assembly. Pic gives an idea how they will look.

Next, glued together the carriage base and sides, added the block that the aiming assist wedge will sit on. Once everything was dry, started to bring the wood to life by giving a couple of brush overs with a dark brown wash. Felt that using a wash gave a better look to that of wood stain and so far am pleased with how its going.... Till next time....

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan
That's a good start you've made there. That 1/24 scale will make for a decent size diorama with loads of detail. That was a great find and looks like it was produced quite a while ago before CNC/laser cutting was available, hence the small inaccuracies of the parts.
A good challenge for you Alan and I know you're up for it. I'll be following along with your diary of this unique build.
Happy building
David

I guess this would be one of those kits that from the box picture would have drawn people in thinking it would be a fairly easy build but from your updates that is far from true.

Some very neat and tidy work you are doing and that gun cart looks well impressive and so many different parts to make it up.

Hope it all continues well.
Happy Modelling

Always good to see a craftsman at workLove
The kit certainly isn’t making life easy for you, but so far you have been able to master her Cool Hope you don’t have to carve that mermaid (didn’t see it in the kit) BigGrin
Good luck with the competition and will be following with interest.
