While assembling the partitions I realised that the X members were missing from the windows, I managed to make some by cutting strips using offcuts from the 'gratings' (just the right thickness, and you know me, never buy unless it's absolutely nessesary!  , make them a tight fit so that they can be fully assembled, and add a dab of S/glue before fixing the acetate. Also noticed no handles on the real thing so omitted them, added a thin strip of wood on outer edge instead, also put extra windows in back partition. The reason I added (& possibly other windows) was that the acetate has black lines to mark out windows on the 'Gallery', does this mean that 'Photo etched brass' will not be included for this area?? Hope my doubts are unfounded. Ps. also fitted support for Poop deck planking in the gallery! Here's some pic's     Happy building, Jeff

Looking very nice mate, I made window frames on mine, gives it a bit more character and detail I reckon! Still debating whether or not to use the same technique for the gallery!

Well done Jeff, that looks good.
I kept looking at my cabin parts thinking something was wrong but couldn't think what it was until I saw your post. It was obvious really but my thinking process isn't what it used to be and find myself having more and more of those 'senior moments' than rational thought just lately. However,brilliant idea to re-cycle the off-cuts from the gratings as window frames.
Good thinking on that plank on the rear gallery panel to keep the poop deck planking in line. Think I'll put both those ideas to use on my build. Thanks for those very useful tips.

Thank's for the input chaps! I was hoping for some feedback about the gallery windows though, how about it Mr 'T', any ideas, or is it another 'DIY' job?  Another thing about the'forecastle', where there is a need to extend the planking, there are a lot of people building that have'nt finished the upper planking and could be advised to lengthen the planking at the 'forecastle' to avoid having to stick a bit in later, is it possible to add this to your build diary 'Mr T', after all everyone follows your impecible advice and it may help some of the later starters! Keep up the good work everybody,  Jeff
