Issue 46
Contents: Shock absorber bodies, Shock absorber pistons x 2, Coil springs x 2, Hub carrier, Left-hand wishbone, Left-hand halfshaft, Universal joint, Mounting plate, Long spindle, Medium spindle, Short spindles x 3, Screws
Take the shock absorber bodies, springs and pistons and place a spring over one of the bodies and fit one of the pistons into the cylinder and secure with a screw. Repeat this to assemble the other shock absorber. Take the assembly from Stage 45, plus the mounting plate and fit the shock absorber assembly into the subframe securing it with the mounting bracket and two screws.
Note the mounting plate is not symmetrical, ensure the correct position from the pictures and type of screws used.
Taking the halfshaft, two short spindles and the universal joint, fit the hole in the end of the universal joint into the forked end of the halfshaft that does not have the lug in the centre. Note that the spindles have one smooth end and one that is ribbed with splines. Fit the smooth end through one of the holes in the halfshaft, and then through the universal joint, press the spindle into place until the splines lock it in the hole in the halfshaft and the other end emerges on the other side of the halfshaft.
Take the subframe assembly and fit the fork over the universal joint protruding from the side of the final drive unit.Fitting the plain end of the other short spindle through the end of the halfshaft and the universal joint and pressing it into place. Noting the correct orientation of the wishbone, ease the two eyes on the ends of the shock absorber pistons over the pins on the sides of the wishbone and align the wide end of the wishbone with the holes in the subframe. Secure both shock absorbers to the wishbone with screws. Take the remaining short spindle, and press the plain end through the correct hole in the subframe and into the hole in the end of the wishbone, pressing it into place. Now press the medium spindle into the hole in the subframe and into the opposite side of the wishbone. Take the hub carrier and place it onto the universal joint aligning the small hole running through the hub carrier with the holes in the end of the wishbone.Fit the plain end of the long spindle through the end of the wishbone and into the pivot in the hub carrier, pressing it into place. Check that the suspension is free to pivot up and down slightly.

Issue 47
Contents: Shock absorber bodies, Shock absorber pistons x 2, Coil springs x 2, Hub carrier, Right-hand wishbone, Right-hand halfshaft, Universal joint, Mounting plate, Long spindle, Medium spindle, Short spindles x 3, Screws
Assemble the shock absorbers in the same way as shown in Stage 46. Fit the shock absorbers to the right-hand end of the subframe, and fit the mounting plate on top, making sure that the longer arm faces the outer end of the subframe. Secure the plate with the correct screws. Fit the universal joint to the correct end of the halfshaft (see Stage 46), using a short spindle and attach it to the universal joint on the final drive unit, using another short spindle. Fit the wishbone with the indicated lug facing forwards. Ease the eyes on the ends of the shock absorber pistons over the pins on the wishbone, and secure them with two screws. Fit the remaining short spindle through the subframe and into the arm of the wishbone, then press it home, then secure the pivot on the other side of the wishbone, using the medium spindle, and press it home. Fit the hub carrier over the universal joint as before and secure the top of it to the end of the wishbone with the long spindle, and press it home. Check that the suspension is free to pivot up and down slightly.

Issue 48
Contents: Rear anti-roll bar, Bracing plate,Right-hand radius arm, Left-hand radius arm, Mounting brackets x 2,Safety straps x 2, Links x 2,Screws
Take the assembly from Stage 43, together with the anti-roll bar, mounting brackets and radius arms provided this time. Take one of the links, and press the hole in one end of it onto the lug on the end of the anti-roll bar, making sure that the lug on the link faces inwards, repeat this step with the other link on the other side of the anti-roll bar.Hold the left-hand radius arm as shown, with its fixing bracket on the underside and on the left. Plug the link on the left-hand end of the anti-roll bar into the fixing bracket. Repeat this on the other side with the right-hand radius arm. Lay the assembly on the underside of the car, ensuring it is the correct way round. Line up the anti-roll bar with the mounting holes, ensuring the arched section in the middle faces upwards.Take one of the mounting brackets, and fit it over one end of the anti-roll bar and secure it with two screws. Repeat this to secure the other bracket on the other side of the anti-roll bar. Take the end of the left-hand radius arm, lift it forwards over the anti-roll bar, so that the hole in the end fits over the hole in the underbody. Take one of the two safety straps, and fit the longer mounting post into the hole in the radius arm, so that the shorter mounting post fits into the nearby hole in the underbody. Turn the assembly over, and use a screw to secure the strap to the underbody. Repeat this for the right-hand radius arm. Use two more screws to secure the other ends of the straps to the ends of the radius arms. Take the subframe assembly from Stage 47, and align it with the underside of the car, fitting the universal joint under the arched section of the radius arm and into the hole in the underside of the body. The flat surface of the subframe should now fit flush with the underbody. Press the pin on the end of the left-hand radius arm into the hole in the wishbone, located just outboard of the suspension units. Repeat this with the pin on the right-hand radius arm.Press the subframe down against the underbody and then turn the assembly over, and use four screws to secure the subframe to the underbody.Turning the assembly over again, you will now need the bracing plate plus two screws.Fit the bracing plate, aligning its mounting holes with the two matching holes on the subframe, with two screws.

Issue 49
Contents: Silencer upper half, Silencer lower half, Screws
Take the assembly from Stage 48 and match up the two halves of the silencer, so that the two longer posts fit through their corresponding holes.Screw the parts firmly together, in each of the recessed holes. Align the completed silencer assembly with the underbody, so that the pipes face forward and the plain end faces towards the rear subframe.Fit the silencer to the underbody of the car, by pressing the two pins into the corresponding holes.Hold the silencer assembly firmly, so that it stays in place while you turn the chassis over and fit two screws to secure the silencer to the holes.
