BigGrin Hi All

Thought it was about time this one was assembled, the review was done a while back and the link to it is below:-

http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&t=17197

All the MFH car kits I have built start with the engine and this build is no different. The main engine block is made from several white metal castings, all these were cleaned up and holes drilled where necessary and some etch added where needed. The assembled block was then painted with flat aluminium along with some pre prepared ancillarys. The rocker covers were painted semi gloss black.

After the paint was dry the rocker covers were added and then the ancillarys were added. Some of these parts should be polished but I used a Molatov Chrome pen to do the work. Once all the prepared parts were added the wiring was added.Still lots to go on here like the super charger ect.

The chassis was prepared by cleaning up and all the holes being drilled out then painted semi gloss black after being undercoated. The last pic shows the engine in position on the chassis but not fixed as yet.

More soon.

BigGrin Thanks for looking in and your comments everyone.

The super charger is included in the kit see the following pictures as for the wire wheels they are made of 6 layers of etch, 3 inner and 3 outer per wheel with a pre turned wheel hub to hold them in position.

BigGrin Hi All

The super charger parts were prepared, painted and assembled including the etch carburetta throttle assembly with spring.

The supercharger was then fitted to the engine block and the whole engine assemble was then fixed the the chassis with four screws. I made up the rear diff/gearbox painted it and fixed it in place on the chassis, a cover plate hides the screw used to fix the diff/gearbox in position. The gear rods and stick were also placed on the chassis.

The various fuel and oil tanks have also been made up and painted pics of the tanks tomorrow.

More soon.

BigGrin Hi All

The first pic as promised show the fuel/oil tanks all the small ones came in two castings the large rear tank was made up of 7 parts all need some filling of gaps in seams but the results looks pretty good to me.

On with the build starting of with the front leaf springs these are made up from etch parts, some castings, wire and rivets. Once the first bracket and rivet are in place its easy to add the other brackets and retaining wires. lastly the cast end parts were added and the assembly fixed to the chassis with two screws.

Next was another sub-assemble for the steering rack assembly again this was mostly white metal castings and etch parts. Once painted it was fixed in place like the leaf spring with two screws. The two front drum brakes were next assembled and added to the front steering rack.

The rear leaf sprinf was assembled in the same way the front one was made up and again attached to the chassis. I am currently working on the rear suspension but more on that next timeDrool Drool Drool Drool .

More soon.

BigGrin Hi All

The engine firewall was added after the steering box was attached to it then the actuating arm and connecting rod was attached to the steering rack then the two engine bay side strengtheners were added.

The rear suspension and drive shafts were next added along with the propellor shafts. More side chassis strengtheners were added along with the upper wishbone and bar that sits on top of the rear suspension assembly.

The last thing added today was the hand brake lever. Still more detail to add before the tanks start going on.

BigGrin Hi All

The two rear lower side bars were added to the rear suspension assembly then the rear drum brakes were made up and glued in place.

The main dash was painted then the dials added along with the decals, pre cut plastic glass faces and bevels. Next the front saddle tanks were added then the dash was placed in position and the two side bars added, then the steering wheel rod was added.

The rear two saddle tanks went on next along with more upper side bars that attach to the rear suspension. Next the large rear tank was fitted to the chassis along with its retaining strap.

Next its pipefest time, the model is turned over and four pipes are placed to plumb all the fuel tanks together. Once the lower pipes are fitted three more are fitted to the top of the car two are painted orange the other is on the front saddle tank.

Still more pipework/wires to go onto the engine bay area, more soon.
