Trevor
You may need to do a little more fairing on the stern, it's not quite clear from that angle. Have a look at the official build diary here.

I can't tell whether the fairing overall is OK from the picture, as I said earlier, using test planks will tell you that.
I was referring to rib 34 and those under it. I found it best to get the fairing complete and out of the way before concentrating on the planking. That way there should be no danger of damaging the planks you have already laid.

Thanks for the advice I did do the plank testing thing and watched the video and numerous build diaries but as I said as a beginner it was a bit of hit or miss as to wheather I had done enough I will look at the bottom section again before I continue as per your advise I have also seen people put other pieces between the ribs on the stern and bow to make the planking have a smoother flow I was going to do this before I started the bottom planking do you think it is needed or should I try and do it without the filler pieces? Yes, people have used balsa for that, you may have seen a couple of diaries that did that. I didn't and I wished I had since I laid the planks without using nails. I definitely will on my next build.

If you take a few pics of your stern from various angles then I think we will be able to see if you have shaped it correctly. Very difficult to tell from the pics you have provided..... Regards Alan

well I have decided to carry on as per the instructions I will be doing some fillers on the Hull as soon as I can find some balsa wood living in the sticks has it's disadvantages as the nearest hobby shop is about 40km away and I am not even sure they stock balsa wood I may have to find some alternative material to make the fillers pine I have plenty but I know sandinding that is going to be a pain anyway time will tell.I added more upper planking and have cut the middle gun ports on one side the instuctions say "leave a mm around which will be cleaned up later I am assuming this is when it comes time to frame the gunports travoski attached the following image(s): If my ship's going down,I'm bloody well getting off

Yeah that 1mm just leaves you a little room for manouvre, as for the pine fillers that's one tough material to sand, can you not order some Balsa online ? http://www.cornwallmodel...catalog/balsa-block.htmlBuilding: DelPrado HMS Victory. Building: DeAgostini Sovereign Of The Seas.
