Pack 4

This pack deals with the first inner wall section from pod 3, the underside of the pod and the Firefly rescue vehicle.

The pod base can be assembled as per the instructions but no painting or weather will be applied until the pod is completed.

The interior floor detail parts should be added and very lightly weathered so as to make them look ‘used’.

The laboratory parts should also be toned down using matt black and brown.
NOTE: The photo makes the lab look very heavily weathered – this is NOT the case and it only looks this way due to camera flash.

The pod wall should be sprayed matt grey to match the floor and also given a light misting of matt brown and black.
The pod wall details are also lightly weathered and toned down so they blend in better.

The roof gantry parts are assembled and washed over with a thin black/white spirit mix to bring out the detail and make them look used.

Firefly is built as per the kit instructions.

Take care when adding the very small detail parts. A magnifying lamp is highly recommended for this kind of work.

Reference pictures of the Firefly (easily found using Google) shows that the studio model was one of the most heavily weathered. This was presumably to indicate its use as a fire vehicle.

Weathering can be done using mostly black and white spirit washes, particularly nearer the front, the lower body sections and the silver shield.
Grey and brown washes can be added to the wheels and tracks – this does not show clearly in the picture.

This completes pack 4.
