Has anyone else had issues with the lightsaber ejector not moving properly.
I am confident that I have connected it properly following the magazine and have checked some videos online to be sure.
However the ejector mechanism only moved very slightly to start with and now doesn’t move at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Haarku Are you using fresh battery's when doing the test as this can effect the outcome if your battery's are fine then it sounds like you may have a faulty drive motor and you will need to reorder issue 37 for a replacement. Could you check the assembly with the official build diary. You may want to check the batteries you have to test the unit with, are not low and try with fresh ones. Or as Andy has said, failing that it may be a new drive motor. Regards Mark

It is possible the geared rack is not engaging with the drive gear correctly, it would be worth opening the case and checking the position of the rack in relation to the drive gear.

This question is directed to someone who has built of building R2D2. I have tested the light saber ejector and it does not work. I have taken it apart and found nothing out of position. When I tested it and connected and reconnected the cables to the various test boards --nothing happened when I pressed the test button. The cables, outward appearance of the motor and drive seem OK. connection of switch seems intact. The same 2 test boards were used to test the leg and then lights showing obstruction to beams on leg were all operative. The problem lies in the light saber itself. Where do I go from here?

Where do I go from here? actually with the info you posted i suspect the small motor as being the problem. you can try connecting power to the motor leads carefully or a second and see if the motor spins. if it will not move then it's the fault and you can ask for a replacement motor. i do not have it in front of me right now but i think there are 3 wires apply power one way the motor would spin left the other right. also there are two micro switches that could be the problem if they are bad the control system needs to see one closed one open to then send power to lift or lower the saber. if you are not sure just call customer service and they can send the pack that has the motor and switches that you can replace.

The tests you have done, does point to a faulty drive motor. Call c/s for a replacement part, issue 37. Regards Mark

My unit did not work when tested. I found that the motor was the problem. If you connect it to the original test board (see pic) it should run. The problem with mine was with the gear on the end of the motor. I released this gear(see pic for clip on gear housing circled in yellow) then retested, motor worked. Gearing worked ok, so I assume the flat on the motor shaft was not aligned properly with the flat inside the gear. Once assembled correctly, all worked ok

I just ran across the same problem where the ejector motor failed the test in issue 53. Did some further testing and disassembling to find that the motor even when connected to the test battery doesn't run. Tested the motor with an ohm meter and the motor shows and open circuit. Called customer service and they're sending me another issue 37. They said it was in stock, which is good, but how long will it take?

Spare parts are shipped from the UK now, but it will around take 7-10 BUSINESS days.

15 days and 11 working days and "NO" issue 37 parts, can someone find out what's going on? I'm to the stage, issue 93, where I need to install the test board and would like to test the ejector before I do it.
