When Eduard released this kit in January (I think) it was one of those 'must have purchases'. As it happens I am not massively into aircraft but there are one or two that do catch my imagination.

I know of this aircraft because my professor of military History at University discussed it and I recall it was the first fighter to have 2 forward facing guns.

Possibly the best fighter of WW1 - no doubt a discussion point LOL Flapper - but the reason I had to have it was the stunning red paint job. See link

So lets take a look at this kit then Drool

This is a proof pack kit and as such is at Eduard more basic kit range, the kit contains two sprue go grey plastic on of clear, a set of decals for 5 different types as well as an etch fret and a set of paint masks.

Comparing it to my current reveal Bristol build this kit packs in the detail, fine relief on the wheel hubs and good texturing throughout. There are some very tiny parts and despite it being a tiny model it comes with a full engine. the frame work is separate allowing for a much more realistic look when built.

there are a surprising number of cleat parts as the wings appear to have lights or viewing holes in the corners. The is paint masks for them all.

The etch cover seat belts, dashboard and struts as well as the bow rack.

There is a good selection of decals covering the aircraft in service with multiple nations. The instructions come as a nice colour booklet in the same style as their etch instructions with nice colour paint instructions at the end of the booklet.

There are no obvious issues with sink although I did see a little flash.

Very nice Jase, looks like a great kit, as most of these Eduard 'Profipack' kits are and should build into a cracking model. One of the best looking WWI planes in my opinion and hope to build a Royal Aircraft Factory Se.5a myself one day though I prefer the Hispano Suiza engined variety.
