Some of you may know that this year we see two connected anniversary with connections to the Titanic disaster of 1912.
As everybody knows there are two other ships involved in the sinking of the Titanic story, the infamous British Leyland Line steamship SS Californian Which was sunk by a U boat in 1915 and the Cunard Line transatlantic passenger steamship RMS Carpathia. Carpaithia was also sunk by a U boat and that occurred 100 years ago this July.
Arthur Henry Rostron was the captain of the Carpaithia who was held as a hero for picking up the survivors in lifeboats after the titanic sunk. July 1918 just a few days after the ship that that made his career was sun the now Sir Arthur Rostron then in command of the liner Berengaria, became Commodore of the Cunard Line.
To mark the anniversaries I was looking into a model of the Carpaithia, there is on a small scale resin one, that looks great but a bit small so I have decided I will swap around my two plans ultimate builds
So in July I will launch my ultimate build of the Titanic. more on soon
