I have decided to build the keel first, with the other pieces coming later,I can do those later at my leisure because being metal they will not twist and warp, I am not going to rush I want to understand, the ship that I am building, It was an impulsive purchase on my part in the fist place and I want to do it justice.

The First issue is in 4 STAGES. The first STAGE of the Keel are these, and I fitted them like this, ALL DRY FIT AT THIS TIME TILL I HAVE ALL THE KEEL

The parts go together very well with little adjustment, I only used the file that comes with the build. STAGE 2 Keel parts look like this, and I did this with them:-

Excellent stuff stuff there MWG [biggrin). Going to post a little bit more on mine in a mo. I have constructed the island. If you don't mind me asking, why are you dry fitting the hull pieces? The reason I'm asking is that I have stuck mine, and now I'm wondering whether I should have.

Thanks Glenn for your commentsLOL I dry fit the Keel at this stage untill I have all the Keel parts, then I can put into a jig (by screwing the base pieces down on a board) this will keep them straight and true while I glue the frames in place useing a set square, this is my method other guys will have different ideas, thats how we all learn, hope this helps GlennLOL BigGrin ThumpUp
