That decking looks great, I wonder if we will see that on some ship kits in the future.

Wonderful, this looks awesome.

I think the ill-fated Tirpitz kit would have done something similar, at least in the preview of the last test issue they were announcing a first sheet of metal for decking or covering the hull. Shame this never progressed beyond the test stage (yet).

BigGrin Hi all

The bow deck has now also been plated and the gutters added to the sides of the hull, they come pre-shaped at the bow and then taper down to 1mm in height. The stern gutters are set at a 1mm height all round.

Next the hull was covered in filler and sanded back then the first coat of undercoat is added which will show up the bits missed in the previous stage. More sanding and filling to come.

BigGrin Hi all

The first coat of grey always shows up the bits you have missed so after more filling and sanding the hull was ready for the filler/undercoat. The hull has had two light coats and now will be left for 24 hours to fully cure.

There will probs be a few more bits to fill and prep before the final couple of coats of undercoat is laid on the hull.

More soon.

BigGrin Hi all

As the hull needs to be left until tomorrow before I can work on it the bridge became the focus of today's build. The bridge carcase is covered in brass panels and more aluminium deck panels are used on the decks.

1st all the decks were covered in plates then starting from the bottom the brass panels were fixed in place. Next more bling is added like doors, windows and railings. Still lots to be added here.

More soon.
