BigGrin Hi Mr T
Thanks for looking in there's still quite a bit of etch to add as yet, railings and blast bag retainers to the secondary guns plus the crane, I have a surprise in store here, not my idea but it will certainly set off the stern area I thinkBlink .Then there's the full hull railings to add so still loads to do

BigGrin Hi Yaturo
Thanks for looking in and your comments, the flag ropes were not that hard to get straight I just worked from the inside out on either side. I used some etch from the Mikasa set to get the upper rope eyes in position and used a reference book for there placement then just tied off the black fishing lines on the base of each one

BigGrin Hi Alan and Nem
Thanks for looking in, yes Alan im relatively happy with her so far I have made some mistakes along the way but your always learning with this modelling game. Nem the etch kit although expensive was worth it just for the railings and radars as there an improvement on what's supplied in my view, wait till I post the pic's of the crane and catapults.

BigGrin Hi All
I have now compleated the crane [apart from painting and the lifting hawser] the base and below is from the parts above the base its from the etch set I have plus a couple of pulleys from the parts. The other pic's show one of the etch catapults made up, I still have to attach the base and a couple of other bits so more pic's later. as always all comments/questions are welcome

Hi Andy!BigGrin
How excellent these fine structures are!Woot Although these etching parts seem to be hard at a glance, I guess they may be so soft that it is very difficult to build them without bad warp.
I am looking foreword your next progress.

BigGrin Hi Yaturo
The etch like all things if mistreated will fail to bend in the right place ,I generally us a metal rule and a small bending machine but nothing fancy. Thanks for looking in and your comments

Hello Andy,

You are becoming a real master at this etch lark my friend, very neat and tidy and perfectly straight, great stuff!! ThumpUp

I like the way that they have chosen to replicate the crane cables with etch strips, really looks like they are under tension and far better than using thin wire or thread, very nice!! Drool

Keep up the good work Andy always look forward to seeing your latest updates, whatever the model subject may be!! Cool

BigGrin Hi SMM and Jase
Thanks for your kind wordsBlushing , I suppose its the old saying 'the more you do the better you get' or ' practice makes perfect' but il also add that after doing 2 ships at 1/700 sale with etch this stuff is positively huge in comparisonLOL
