Good evening from 'The Dockyard'.

This weeks update of my 1/48 scale model of U230 sees the continuation of adding made to measure, 0.5mm thick plastic panels to connect the base and the lower deck of the conning tower.

What a tricky old job it's been!Blink. I've succeeded in fitting 8 panels this week, taking me approximately 10 hours!Blink

It wasn't just a case of cutting out a square shape to fit as the two sections to be joined have different diameters. This meant I had to bend the top and bottom of each panel to suit and then twist the whole section to accommodate the taper.

The attached photo shows what I mean. I also marked an arrow indicating the top so as I didn't fit it incorrectly.
