I've decided on this version for several reasons, 1.I've dreamed of building this for ever. 2.After building panart's version of the vic lifeboat(launch)I was impressed with the design/quality,and 3. this is a series of 9 kits, almost a part works, which I can afford by giving up smoking.which pleased the wife,it is the same scale as the victory, but is a foot longer, which surprised me,I have purchased kit 1. and kit 2.only 7 more to go.here are some early pics. Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/

Wow!! Absolutely brilliant mate and a great way of paying for the models...I made the same sacrifice to build the Bounty...what with the modelling and an ample supply of Nicorette I have been off the dreaded weed for well over ten years now...and I feel better for it...I will be especially interested in your new build mate...keep it up, and good luck with non smoking...
Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

Interesting about the smoking, Ive decided to quit, I've not had a fag for 2 weeks now, reason??? to be able to afford to build the Hood:)

Terrific well done Karl, I am looking forward to this one I gave up smoking 20 years ago (60 a day) why because when you are young you can get rid of the toxins, but as you get older the toxins kill you SIMPLES!!!!! I still have 1 large Monte Cristo cigar at new year as my reward for not smoking all year. MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Great looking kit Karl, interested in that one myself. Did you see the write up in Model Boat Magazine a short while ago? I gave up smoking about 5 mths ago now, not easy but worth it. Mind you it did take a heart attack & a 3 month course of Champix! I spend all the money that I save on models, keeps me on the right track. Good luck with it Karl, I truly know how hard it can be. Wilfy

Karl. Nice looking kit there cant wait for the build diary to get underway. And good luck with the fags. I not stopped but have gone on to rolling my own, £7.00 a week now instead of around £80 a week, thats how im able to buy my builds. And also. Ive now lost track of the number of builds you have, at this rate im thinking you may need some thing the size of a football ground just to house them Anyway. All the best Foz

these next series of pics,is up to being ready for planking. this is an unusual model in the way it is planked, balsa planked, then a coat of pva, followed by a coat of modelspan(thick tissue)put on with dope.I bet there are some aero modelers here who remember this method, the instructions say that they had such a good result with this method that they left it like that, but they supply and lot of veneer strips if you wish to double plank.don't know if I'll do that yet.
