can somebody shed a bit of light on which screws are the correct ones to use in issue 70 and 74 when joining the body panels together please?

i know the magazine, official diary and official video all show using the normal 2.3x6mm, but a lot of people on facebook are under the impression we should be using the screws with the bigger heads that look like they have an attached washer that were supplied in issue 70 i think it was. Aslo, in issue 74 step 1,3 6 & 7 appear to clearly show the screws with washers attached.

so, as has happened in the past it looks like the text says one thing, but the pics in the mag show another, the official pages show normal screws, the mag says normal but shows the screws with washers attached. i know a lot of people dont use the forum, or look at official build etc, and some dont even bother reading the text, they just look at the pics, so i am just looking for some clarification.

many thanks

The instructions clearly say in issues 70 and 74 to use 2.3x6mm unflanged screws and this is what should be used for this part of the build. The pictures are there to give a visual guide but its the instructions that should be adhered too.
Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

So the pics in the mag are incorrect then. Thanks for clarifying.

Want to make sure im doing it right on mine. This is where everyone is getting confused with the screws, the instructions saying 1 thing and the pics showing something else. Its not the easiest to follow.

The official build is exactly how the assembly should be and any changes or adjustments clearly noted as sometimes there can be a slight change made which did not catch the issue print in time.

Always check the official build for the latest and most up to date information about any stage of the assembly.

Again I repeat the 2.3 x 6mm screws specified in the instructions on the official build are the ones to be used for both stages in question.

I would also add that using the wrong screws from those specified in the instructions for this part of the build will lead to a shortfall of the flanged screws which are used at a later stage in the assembly.

It may be a good idea that you ask your social media friends to join the forum and ask there questions here instead of asking you to do it for them. This is the only place that has the most up to date information on the build and can advise on any query.
