Hi Colin
Yes it is an enjoyable build still on going. It is a wood double planked hull. Fully radio control. super structer made of wood then covered by brass plates for detail and painted. Glad you liked it Ian.

Well I was looking at manu Bismarck builds over the last month or so, just to get an idea on how the Hood may be structured, and some are amazing, the details are superb.

What did you use to paint the hull?

Hi Colin
Hull spray painted with primer. Then used Revell Aqua coluor paint.about two sprays to cover it, paint slightly watered down. Then varnished hull with five coats of varnish to protect it from water. I Found this a very detailed model as search lights have clear glass in them, lauches all have ships wheels iside them. Baulk head details even go down to fire hoses.

The radio control was an added option in the magazine for a cost of £125. this included battery and charger, radio controll , reiceiver , speeed controller, two motors prop shafts and tubes, propellers. a bit fidley to fit propler shafts into model as kit was slightly differnt size to the shafts through the ribs in model

The Hood is being sold as a static; just about anything is possible if you know how or at least have an idea on how to go about itWink

Hi All
Just to give you an idea of what you need to make a boat radio controlled

1) radio Jaguar T2D
2)Boat Battery Thunder tiger 6V 4.5Ah Part No 2625
3) 2 x Boat engines By Graupner
4) Speed controller Graupner (Navy V40R)
5) Propellers Groupner Part Nos 2308 30 2308 30L ( The L is for a left handed propeller on engine turns to the left and one turns to the right )Ther was also a dummy third propeller
Theese where based on a 1/200 scale model
Hope this gives any one thinking of making a radio controll model some help
Ian.
