Think I needed fingers of an octopus for this one, but got there in the end.
Reckon I'm a screwer...not a gluer
Anyone else found it difficult to fit all together ?

It was a pain but a bit of maskin tape and a lot of time did the trick!

I found the rear wing difficult too. It took three days till i was happy with it. I wanted to make sure the glue was dry on one side before i did the other. Looks great once done.

I made mine in about 1/2 hour didn't find it difficult at all. Sorry guys not being a big head. Just didn't find it hard. I have been making models for year mind. I didn't need masking tape, the glue I use hardens really quickly.

Didn't take long...just fiddly
Found it easier if I fixed the lower wing with the two pins fist, allowed to set then teased the other two points back to glue.
Don't like using tape, thinking it may remove the paint.

It was a little fiddly, but for the small upright fins, I found the pins needed shortening slightly to stop them pushing each other out. Then I held each one in place for a minute to let the glue take hold before leaving it for an hour to set. Once one side was set I did the other fin the same way - again, no tape. I did it all in one go, thats why i used the tape! I then left the tape on for the next 24 hours just to make sure there would be no issues.

My upper and middle wing wasnt completely straight so when gluing the endplates one end would pop out slightly. I dont build models, just a big mclaren fan but i want the car to look great so i spent a long time making sure they sat properly. Im using revell liquid glue but it isnt great. Can anyone recommend a better glue to use?

Dont know, Its liquid glue for plastic. It takes ages to dry and some parts didnt stay glued for long like the fins under the front wing. Have to say my model looks great though. Ive spent a long time getting it right. I did see a Build diary that looked terrible. Glue all over the place and parts not lined up properly so i know im doing something right. Never built a model on my life but love this car. Its made me look into doing a proper model. 1/12 tamia mclaren i think but wonder how big the step up would be.

I use the same as mwg but also use another that is a lot thinner but sticks a bit like superglue. Have to be careful with it as is so thin and will run if not careful

I have been using a superglue which is fine but can leave a residue. Ill get some abs in the week. I would use a cocktail stick or something alike to apply abs?

I've been using some plastic weld stuff! Lol. It's like a really thin liquid that pretty much evaporates straight away leaving the surface of the plastic "melted". Bit tricky cos it's so thin but works ok. If at first you don't succeed........skydiving is not for you!
