Hi Alan I was able to mark the planks #6 around 1 or 2MM now I need your help with tapering the planks since I do not own the particular ruler you used in the video or as used in the instructions I do have the 15mm ruler but it does not show 130 but 13mm instead before I taper it I need to know do I mark the plank at 13mm Ronald

The ruler shown in the instructions is marked out in millimetres, the ruler you probably have will be marked out in centimetres. 130mm is 13cm so you need to mark the start of your taper at 13cm....

yes you are right mine is in cm but it shows mm on top and 0.5mm on the bottom but for the first time I was right for someone getting use to metric being from the states lol Ronald

 No problem. You could convert by dividing the centimetre measurment by 2.54 which would give you the size in inches, so 13cm divided by 2.54 would work out at 5.11 inches. Regards Alan

was thinking would it be easier to use an X-acto knife to cut the taper rather then sanding the taper just a thought Ronald

ok thanks Alan I did that for one of them drawing the taper wasn't easy had to find a way to keep the scrap and plank from moving on me and marking the 1.5mm wasn't easy either but I got it, P.S. may I ask where did you buy the 150mm ruler used in the video thank you Ronald

I would imagine you could find a US supplier for this item, perhaps doing an internet search produce results for you..... Regards Alan

is yours a 6" or 12" ruler yes the US might but cornwall models have better products I could try to look for one here in the US Ronald

I use a variety of different rulers, not just the one....

Hi Alan I was wondering when the instructions say to taper the # 6 plank by 1.5mm over 130mm which side do I taper do I sand the side to reach the 1.5mm or sand 1.5mm away to get a 3.5mm taper Ronald
