I had a 1/20th scale version that went a bit wrong - https://www.facebook.com...91.541585027&type=3

I stupidly used white spirit to remove the spray paint when it went a bit wrong and it melted the engine cover! Blushing Won't be doing that again!

Hi everyone,
First post here. My girlfriend has bought me this model with an airbrush and compressor for Christmas. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I've never tried a 1/12 scale before, also never airbrushed so was wondering how much paint to buy. I see hiroboy are selling a three pack of these colours. Zero paints 3*30ml jars for £10.99. Will this be sufficient for 1/12 scale. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way the above pictures look stunning. Really well made. I'll be over the moon if mine is have as good. I'm sure I'll be here looking for more advice!
Regards Stephen.

Hi Stephen and welcome BigGrin The 3 pack from Zero paints will be plenty for your Williams but might I suggest practicing with some water based acrylics on some white paper or card first then possibly a cheap body of a 1/24 car until your confident of your skills... Good luck and look forward to seeing how you get along..

Hi Spencer,
I'll give that a try. It'll be good just to get a feel of how the airbrush works. I only started modelling this past year and I'm loving it. It's reassuring to know I can come here for advice from the more experienced builders, cheers.

Then you have come to the right place Stephen BigGrin there are a lot of members with a tonne of experience and all willing to lend you their expertise. We are a friendly bunch so no matter how strange the question may seem there will always be some one who can hopefully answer it...

I built the FW14 many years ago and have another boxed and un-touched and will get around to doing it again one day BigGrin
