As some of you may have picked up on during the corse of the year I recently have had a bit of a 'thing' for revisiting some old classic kits, some I built as a kid some I just like because they are a bit different. The result of this is I have managed to get back into my stride, something thats been a bit amiss for 5 years or so
I always have more then one build on the go but in recent years they have all been big projects, and when I run out of steam on one and need a break it has to be packed away to allow space for something else. it then becomes a pain to get it all back out and so the stash of started builds grows. having a small kit that I can just bash out has really helped, it doesn't take up the space, its cheap and I am not really worried about building a master piece just something to give me a break from the big builds. The result has been that 2018 so far has been my most productive year for a long time with 4 models build during the year already and another 2 that will defiantly be over the line before Christmas while three big projects will continue to progress.
Ark Royal should complete in September 40th Anniversary Spitfire 2 should finish Sept/Oct
Which means I have space for another Classic kit build before the end of the year I have a few to chose from and cannot decide which classic next, they will all get built at some point so it really dose not matter
I was wondering if anybody had real desire to see one of these built? let me know if you do and I will apply do that one next, these are my options
English musketeer
Dennis Fire Engine
Fairly Rotodyne
Christie steam fire engine
S- boat

Interesting footage of the Rotodyne.... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u4Z1UnRZDyo
Just 1 prototype was built. Although the Rotodyne was promising in concept and successful in trials, the programme was eventually scrapped. The termination was attributed to the type failing to attract any commercial orders; this was in part due to concerns over the high levels of rotor tip jet noise generated inflight. Politics had also played a role in the lack of orders (the project was government funded,) which ultimately doomed it’s future.
