we need them wet tyres!! Cursing why is it that we cant have them in the UK exactly?? whats the difference between giving the japanese them and giving us them?? can anyone shed some light?

This has been discussed a while ago and tomick has intimated that they may be an option for us to buy later in the build, so I guess not 'costed in'
Mind you if we paid $50 USD per copy x 65 in Japan we would get them for free Wink

Actually it was Admin who intimated...

Hi,

McLaren extras

We are still in negotiation with McLaren over some elements. The wet tyre set is not currently part of the McLaren product - the dry tyres are. However we are hoping to be able to offer a set of the wet tyres at some point - pending McLaren approval - for the UK market. Possibly as a special edition - then you can chose whether you want to display your MP4-23 with wet or dry tyres. This is the plan, and we will update you when we have confirmation of this.

The 1:8 scale Lewis Hamilton Helmet is sadly not possible for the UK as an on sale item.

A display case is in development for all markets, and as soon as we have our approved prototype we will advise of costs and expected availability.
thanks

Admin.

Its nothing to be concerned about, just a swop around in parts supply because of the differing run length between countries and is no detriment to the build.

Well...wrong person, rightish answer.

I guess that if we may get the option of wet tyres I would assume we can also buy the wheels as well, so that we can display a set of 'stacked' tyres beside the car ?

I'm glad they're reprinting the mags.....I can't read JapaneseFlapper

The one thing I'd like to know is why Mr T/Admin/DeAgosting persist with this "you'll have to wait and see" rubbish. There's no good reason why we shouldnt know what parts are coming up. Terrible way to treat loyal customersAngry

Remember, we only look towards the Japanese site because nobody linked to the UK version is of any helpAngry

BigGrin Hi all,

Now, WITHOUT pointing the finger at anyone in particular or wishing to start a fight, can I just make my own point here and say that I am getting a little bored with all this discussion about ... "what parts are we getting?" ... "why are we getting 85 issues and Japan only 65?" ... "when will the supply order change?" ... "why can't we have this or that like the Japanese?" ... etc, etc!!

We all knew when we started at week 1 that it would be spread over 85 issues, ... the Japanese build is NOT (as Mr.T has stated on several occasions) the same as that in the UK ... Why does it matter what order we get parts in, as long as the we get them ALL in the end? ... and the Japanese have got rain tyres, but NOT the free 1/4 scale steering wheel, which evens things out, so why moan about things being unfair for us in the UK??

PLEASE, just give De Agostini, Admin and MR.T a break from all this what, why and can't we have, for a while before the company decides that we are an ungrateful bunch in the UK and pulls the plug halfway through!!

I for one think this is an excellent model as it is, in it's present form and really don't care what order it arrives in as long as it runs the full distance and I get all the parts, which DeAg have already assured us that it will. I am a PATIENT man and have great faith in the saying that "Everything comes to he who waits".

You wouldn't buy a Tamiya, Hasegawa or some other construction kit and expect the manufacturer to supply anything extra, free of charge, other than what comes in the kit box after you've bought it, so why any different with a partwork kit?? You decide at the point of purchase whether you are willing to buy it for the asking price and know just what it is that you are paying for before making that choice!!

So PLEASE, can we just drop the moaning about what we have or may or may not be getting and just enjoy the build week by week as it comes?? BigGrin Mellow

Irrespective, people are impatient! (me being one of them) And if a carrot gets dangled then people are going to chase it!
People will always fish for the next bit of info and its nice to know what to expect and when you will expect it! So you can't really blame people!
Plus, it makes for interesting reading and has got a lot of people involved in the discussion!
