 Hi All The Akagi hull masked up and two coats so far off Tamiya's Hull red which is the perfect match for JIN anti fowling red. The paint looks blotchy because its still wet  . More soon. Sweet, that's a lot of paint, I'm guessing you used rattle cans for ease

Hi Dave Thanks for looking in and your comments. No rattlers were used here just my trusty suction airbrush with the 22 cc glass pot it will cover the whole hull for the 1st heavy colour coat with some left over for the lighter 2nd coat. Hi All The two coats of hull red were fine so I then fixed the stand to the hull to minimise scratches/damage to the paint work,the rudders have also been added. Next the two girders and 4 fire hoses were added to the stern hangar roof and then the boats were added to the deck along with the two cranes and brace wires. The small boat was also added to the bow. Made the final adjustments to the rear flight deck and supports and glued it in place along with the final few runged ladders. This only leaves the wood store and boats to mount below the the flight deck. The flight deck edge has been painted ready for the wood deck border to be added, so planking is the next job. More soon. Seriously impressive work Andy, she looks fantastic. One thing I meant to ask was can you remember where you got the blueprints from. I've been looking and can only find them available from Japan and the site doesn't do online sales only by post with money orders or cash which i am a bit dubious about.

Just a quick update, The planks have been cut ready to start the flight deck so time to crack on with it .
