BigGrin Hi All

Some further progress I have managed to lose a couple of parts over time the stern mast with the landing lights but I just made another with scrap parts, the other two parts namely a plate for the deck and a flood light I made a mould for and cast them in resin.

The rear landing light clusters and stern masts have been added along with the flood lights and the rear light cluster mast added. Around the bridge area the flag mast and flag screen have been added along with the range finder and ariels at the front of the bridge. More soon.

Regards

Hi Andy!
What a great work you have done!

A lot of Japanese model builders often worry about the position of stern masts of the aircraft carriers.

Two position (down or rised) can be selected. I guess you have already made up your mind.

I'm looking forward to seeing your decision.

Best Regards,
Yutaro

BigGrin Hi Yutaro

Thanks for looking in and your comments. I have the scale rigging wire for models that has a slight stretch unlike your solution of using stocking nylon as rigging wire so I think the masts will be set at the down position.

BigGrin Hi All

Getting close to the end now. The four cutters have been added along with the wood to the wood store next the central braces for the safety nets were added along with the nets. The bow nets have also been added this just leaves the stern nets to add and the propelors along with some rigging. I will then complete the aircraft and the deck furniture that is left to do.

I wish I could see the photos... No amount of refreshing seems to be helping recently.
I'm getting to planking stage on mine. From what I managed to glimpse from random photos popping up sometimes when I refresh, you're close to finish and you made a damn good job on her...

Well here she is the hull is now finished apart from the aircraft which I will be doing next. The final stern safety nets were added along with the wires around the bridge and rear masts the flag lines were added next along with the flags. The screws were added and last of all the Akagi name written in Japanese was added to the stern [one side only].

As I said above just the aircraft to do now so im cracking on with them.

Nice work Andy, she looks great! Cool ThumpUp

I'm not a ship fan generally, though being a big fan of aircraft and the Pacific War does mean that this model has a certain appeal to me - I have considered subscribing on more than one occasion since it was first released!!BigGrin

Looking forward to seeing the decks adorned with Jap planes. Well done!! Cool Cool Cool

Hi Andy!
She looks very beautiful and realistic! She seems to be waiting for lots of arircrafts.

By the way, I have one suggestion about Optical landing system. I can see that you have painted the front faces of the lights with red and green, haven't you. I think back side should be painted otherwise Japanese pilots of landing aircrafts could not see the lamps.

I hope you to check it.

If I misunderstood, please forget it.

Best Regards,
Yutaro
