Channel 5, will be showing a new series of six, hour-long shows called the Great Model Railway Challenge. Fifteen teams of six members will compete in five heats to build a complete model railway in 24 hours (spread over 3 days). The winning team of each heat will go on to compete in the final. Each layout will measure 10 feet by 5 feet and each heat will have a given 'theme' that the layouts have to stick too. The layouts will be judged on the following categories, model making skills, operation, animations, theatricality and humour.  Certainly sets a challenge and worth watching to see how they scratch build stuff. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Saw this advertised on TV last night, not really into model railways, but will be great to watch and see how they build these. Mark
