Thanks for all the encouraging comments. Cool

Now there`s shed loads of after market stuff out there and my choice is shown in the pics below after the the kit contents.

Brass etch I`m comfortable with, but the jet engine parts in resin are a first for me so depending how it goes I may revert to the kit parts. LOL

So here`s the kit and after market pics. Just got to sort paints if not already in my ever expanding collection.

BigGrin Hi Derek

Some nice extras there and dont worry to much about the Aires resin if you look at the instructions [if you can call them that LOL LOL LOL LOL ] the dark casting block parts shown in the instructions are what needs to be removed to create the part.

Cut 2 to 3mm away from the part edge when removing the casting block then trim/sand back once the part is released. Also be carefull when triming/ sanding not to remove detail as resin parts can also be fragile if handled roughly.

Resin parts can be quite daunting if you have never used them before but once you have one under your belt its plain sailing for future projects.

Have fun

I have a small update on the start of this build. BigGrin

I have got some parts ready for a base coat of paint, leaving some sprue on for something to keep hold on and I have removed all the instrumentation, foot pedals and foot pedal runners from the cockpit.

Pic 1 shows the seat part for both crew members.

Pic 2 shows the lower fuselage and front wheel bay.

Pic 3 shows the cockpit and the arrows indicate where the detail has been removed in preparation for the etch upgrades.

These parts now have a base coat and are drying ready for the next stages.

Thanks to those who have looked in and and the kind comments.BigGrin

Another small update:

I`ve painted the seat frames and constructed one to show how the parts come together.

Also painted the cockpit sides in preparation for the etch control panels. Next job here is to fit the etch foot pedals and rails before painting the cockpit floor.

I`ve made a start on removing the detail from the seat backs and bases as the complete seat belt system is to be replaced by etch detailing.

Progress pics below.
