Hi All, Me again, with a new question... sorry... Could the pros here help me how the double parrel for the fore yard should be tied to the yard? Figure A: The two ends of the threads are separated, go above and and below the yard and tied together on the front together using e.g. a reef knot. Figure B: The two ends stay together, go around the yard together and tied behind the yard using e.g. two half-hitches Which way is the correct way? A or B? gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! Laszlo Finished builds: HMS Victory, HMS Victory Cross-Section

Hi there Ginger! I checked on one of my jpegs of the rigging of the parrels and according to the diagram you start with a complete loop around the port side of the yard which is lashed together just behind the yard. The two separate ropes then pass around the mast (with the parrel blocks on of course) and then the lower rope passes around the spar on the starboard side and is joined to the top rope just in front of the mast, each end being looped around the other and lashed together. Once joined the two ropes are lashed together right behind the spar like the port side. It sounds really complicated but I can send you a copy of the pic if you'd like. Best of luck! Here you go, sorry it's not crystal clear - this is a small section from a much larger pic which is enlarged way past its optimum! Hopefully the added text will help. Robin.
