I have been offered one of the two DeAg model Victorys that are on our local Ebay type website. less than half new price but i have one possible issue.
the guy has had the complete set including magazines for about 2 years. given that it takes a bit over 2 years to gather as a weekly subscription (makes it about 4 years old) my concern is that the parts may or may not have warped. now i know that the possible easy fix is to soak and put under a big weight till dry but are there any other concerns i should be thinking about before making the decision to get it. or do i just get it as its a bargain and any possible parts i may have to get replaced will still make it a bargain

It depends how its been stored, if all the packs were stored flat then all should be well. Its a chance you have to take and at least there are still issues available if any need replacing.

taken delivery of the Victory and in due course will start a build diary... once i have done a bit more on the endevour longboat.
interestingly the guy i bought it off had the endevour that he was building and was at the build the masts stage. looked pretty good and he said that he just didnt have the time to do that and also do the Victory.

thanks everyone.
got the boxes and magazines home last night and started to go through it all. all the magazines are in the binders so thats all good. all the model parts were in 4 boxes and all mixed up so sorted them into a sequential order and re labelled the boxs.
looks like i got issue 121 which i believe is the first part of the cutaway model.
there did also appear to be a couple of extra bags with no labels on and looked to contain extra cannons and other stuff.I will have to go through each bag and see whats there and whats not against the list that is provided with each issue.
good thing is the parts i was most concerned with (the hull and ribs) all appear to be in good condition and not warped at all.

the minus is that the gift packs that i believe went out with this model are not with the kit. i was sort of hoping the tool pack at least was with the kit. oh well never mind given the relitivly cheap price i got the kit for i can afford to spend few dollars on extra tools as i require them and as a start i will be getting a dremal kit with a 160 piece accessories kit this weekend. that should just about see me sorted apart from a razor saw and the pin pusher.

Great to hear the kit is in great condition and you're just about ready to get started. Hope to see your work as you progress, its the best way for us to render assistance if needed.... Good luck with your build...
