put the first part of the middle gun deck on and left to dry. when i went back to put the second piece on turns out i hadnt put it in correctly and the second piece doesnt fit. so i need to try and remove the deck piece and reseat it... trouble is im having issues with getting at the glue points.
it looks like the easiest way to do this is to remove the middle gun deck beams and then remove them from the deck piece. once i get the deck beams off i can soak the deck and beams in hot water to remove them. but getting them off is thehard bit

thats a bit odd... the update i did yesterday didnt post...

anyway i managed to get the offending deck piece off by lots of hot water sponged and painted onto the joints. came off ok but needed cleaning up once the pieces were dry. re instated the deck beams and will re attach the decks correctly.

I must admit i was thinking of trimming the second deck side to make it fit. and re drilling the mast hole ie the easy option.
im glad i didnt

attached the middle deck and when attempting to put in the deck beam it appears to require quite a lot of work to get it to fit in correctly.
Is this normal. the first set on the lower deck fit in quite easily . this set looks like i will need to take about 2 or 3mm off to get it to fit.

I've jumped ahead a bit doing various stand alone pieces. Started doing the main and mizzen top pieces at stage 61 & 77.one of the parts is to put a bunch of ribs and the description in the instructions calls for use of a 1 x 5 plank to make these from. This the same for both stages. Is this a typo and should it be a 2 x 5 plank as supplied?

Just found the answer here in the official build diary... and yes it's use 2 x 5. So must have been a typo

been a while since i posted. very little progress. work has been super stressful lately and find it hard to do anything when i get home. have progressed the fairing of the hull a bit and got the worst of it done just need to tidy it up now.
also found my glasses need changing as i find the little stuff very hard to see. have got a magnifying glass and light on order to try and solve this issue.

Erik

It is a pain with the eyesight i must agree.

Think i need to go get an eye test as i have a pair of reading glasses and a pair of distance specs but for close up i seem to get on better without either.

Do you have sny more pictures of your build. - would be good to see them.

Tony
