I think what would be really cool is if they included an LED rain light that worked once the model is finished I know this is not the case...so I intend to install one myself when i see how big the rear light on the car is It is going to be my own personal touch and would look aewsome at night! Thoughts guys... Chris

Looking at the extra detail photo's Senna94 posted Extra detail threadLooks like it'll be 3x4 arrangement, maybe use these in parallel with a delay/blink resistor The problems I see is the power source and where to store it, and are 3mm l.e.ds too big? need to measure up! We will have to wait and see what size the lens is when we finally get the part. I may even just place one Large led behind the lens, as you would need to be really close up to see it All depends how much room there is in there to play with? Chris

I had a little working out last night, dont think a 3x4 3mm l.e.d cluster is going to fit, just too damn tight So maybe the 1 10mm l.e.d idea behind the cluster is the way to go? me and a neighbour friend of mine was talking about this several months ago (just after we both subscribed to it ) and we came up with the plan that if you ar intending to place it in a display case then a simple watch type battery could be placed within the base with a tog switch and wired through to the empty space behind the lense with just one single red led which if you go to your local pound shop around christmas time you will find that they sell small light up santas made of a gell like material which will have all the nessersary parts including a flashig unit all for £1 also this will look more efective if you paint the lense in black around the raised areas

It does come on then but if I remember right the fuel flap opens aswell when this happens. Now there is a good MOD, light comes on AND the fuel flap motors open. Regards Bob Builds in progress

And Also...... Ive noticed Lewis doing it when it isnt raining and hes not entering or leaving the pits... I think the one I'm thinking about is Belgium 2010... I know it did rain then, but he had the light on when it wasn't. I remember Brundle saying that he was possibly doing it to distract drivers... I dont have an opinion on it... but what I'm trying to say is, if you want a rain light on the model, and like Lewis, you want to 'distract' other people, say in the house, on display, then you can say it is because LH does it Building the McLaren MP4-23
