Well the cockpit is 99.9% finished and now fitted into the front half of the fuselage. It had a couple of coats of Klear to seal in the decals and once that was dry I used a flat steel dry brushed on and then a black wash to pick out some details. Once this had dried I gave it a couple of coats of matt varnish and once that had dried I used Klear on all of the dial lenses and screens. Some additional weathering will be done on the final paint stage of the whole Tornado. Next up will be to tackle all of the seams on the front and rear fuselage and re-scribe some panel lines.BigGrin Cool

Looks great Nem. Them decals look great. I chose to paint mine but don't look as good as using decals.

Thank you all for looking in and your comments, the decals for the cockpit took micro set and micro sol to get them to look ok, they were quite thick.
I have 90% finished the engine exhausts now with all the base colours and some dry brushing, I am awaiting the desert pink for the sides to be painted and some more weathering and detailing will be done at final assembly.Cool

Tried out the Desert Pink, its an enamel airbrush ready paint and it was a pleasure to use, usual standard from Alclad. Exhausts are done with some tweaking and detailing on final assembly.BigGrin Cool

Looking well. Only sprayed enamel once for the red hull of the Hood. It was very dusty finish . Obviously didn't do it correctly lol.

Nice choice of aftermarket seat Daran, I love the 'Quickboost' stuff, always nicely cast and very well detailed, should paint up nicely and look great in the cockpit when done! Cool ThumpUp

Those seats look great, I think they're the ones I have on order for mine. I also got hold of the Alcad paint. Looking forward to seeing more updates.

Just a small update during the madness called Christmas and New Year, the Quickboost seats have been trimmed off the casting blocks and a dry test fit to check the clearance to the canopy.Cool

Looks like some nice aftermarket seats you have there Daran and they seem to fit just right beneath the canopy. Should look good when they're all painted up. Cool ThumpUp
