I notice your using superglue for the hull framework, you should be using PVA glue for the static and a waterproof PVA or Aliphatic resin for the R/C version Wink

Will it make much ov a difference T?I plan to r/c it and didn't think it would matter as it's going to all be water proofed inside with maybe fibre glass. I thought superglue would have been better/stronger for this.

super glue gives you one chance the glue i am useing is NO MORE NAILS EXPRESS pva is weather proof gives a strong bond in 5 to ten minutes full cure in 24 houres and its cheaper than super glue

By the looks of it the superglue you have is the run of the mill thin stuff, which soak's into ply like water and gives a very weak bond, it would not have been so bad if you had used a thick superglue.

Give the frames and all the woodwork a wiggle, where you might find some pull loose; superglue gives a bittle bond, but if all is okay, from here on in use a waterproof PVA.

For R/C, the wood to wood parts such as framework and hull planking use a waterproof PVA such as the EVO stick blue bottle version which is about the best or use Aliphatic Resin glue if you are to avoid risk of water ingress into joint problems.

I bet many make this mistake Crying

Blushing Hi s2ksean,i know of 1 advantage over pva/super glue due to my own errors is that if u need to remove a wooden part that is not to your satisfaction this can be done quite easily by soaking the joint and making the pva glue soft therefore easy to remove

I doubt very much if you could do that with superglue

Do u think it would be ok if I went over all the joins with a better glue?

I am using Aliphatic, I will also brush adhesive into the joints, just for more strength, as we did on the Victory, and guys MR T is always right mutter!! mutter!! makes you sick!!!!!!!LOL

Personally I would check every wood part, remove any you can and reset with a waterproof PVA, those that remain fast, brush a small fillet of glue into the joints so at least its seals the joint.

I'm surprised the instructions do not state at the outset to use a waterproof PVA for the R/C build.
