Pack 2 contains issues/stages 5 - 8
Issue/Stage 5 contains – Cockpit front console base, Cockpit panels right & left, Cockpit instrument lights right & left, R2-D2 centre foot left & right, R2’s centre leg and R2’s lubricators (x2).
Assembling R2-D2’s centre leg.
Fit the hole in the left half of R2’s foot over the pins protruding from the centre leg and push together firmly in place. Repeat this process with the right half of the foot.
Using a pair of tweezers, take one of the lubricators and fit the two pins in the holes located in his ankle. Repeat this with the remaining lubricator to the other side of the ankle.
Press the socket in the top of the centre leg into the end of the spindle below R2-D2’s body. (Note, the leg will turn R2’s head, so align this with his head in the forward position.
Assembling the instrument panels
Lay out the left and right cockpit panels and the two clear lens panels as shown. Start with the right-hand panel, matching up the mouldings on the lens with the holes for the instruments.
There are two pins on the inside of the panel that match the holes in the lens. Press the lens into the pins on the inside of the panel. Check the top of the panel to make sure it is aligned.
Repeat the process to fit the second set of lenses onto the mounting pins inside the left-hand panel.
This completes the two side panels, which you will fit in the next stage.

Issue/Stage 6 contains – Cockpit shell, 5x screws.
Fitting the instrument panels.
Take the two completed panels from stage 5 and position them next to the cockpit shell, together with four of the screws supplied. There is one spare screw supplied.
Fit the left-hand panel over the moulding on the left-hand cockpit shell and press it down all the way.
Holding the parts together, turn the assembly over and drive two of the screws through the holes to secure in place.
Repeat this process with the right-hand panel.
This stage is now complete. Store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.

Issue/Stage 7 contains – Power couplings x 2, Top skin, Laser cannon support, Trailing-edge detail.
Assembling the wing.
Start by taking the upper skin and trailing-edge detail, lining the detail as shown, matching the tabs and slots.
Push the tabs into the slots. They are a tight fit, so use the handle of a screw driver to apply pressure. Make sure all the tabs have gone all the way in.
Take the laser cannon support, making sure it is the correct way around and line it up with the two pins. Press firmly into the holes, making sure the support fits flush with the upper skin.
Take the two power coupling discs, noting that the back of each disc has a “D” shaped mounting lug in the centre. One has two recesses in the rim, the other has one larger recess.
Take the disc with the two recesses and line up the mounting lug with the “D” shaped hole in the underside of the hole and push the disc into place until it fits flush. Note that the underside of the wing fit into the recesses of the rim.
Press the last disc into the remaining hole, pressing it firmly into place as done previously.
This stage is now complete. Store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.

Issue/Stage 8 contains – Trailing -edge conduit, Outer wing frame, Leading-edge conduit, Trailing -edge wiring, Wing-roof brace, Leading-edge wiring, screws (x3).
Assembling the wing.
Start by taking the metal frame, two of the screws provided and the wing assembly from stage 7. Line up the metal frame, matching the holes with the pins moulded into the wing and press firmly into place. Screw two of the screws into the holes to hold the frame in place as shown.
Now take the trailing-edge wiring, which has angled ends, and line up the holes in the strip with the matching pins on the wing, pressing firmly into place.
Take the trailing-edge conduit and line up the three holes in the pipe with the matching pins on the wing as shown and press the conduit into the pins.
Take the leading-edge wiring, noting which way around it goes, and line it up with the three holes on the strip with the matching pins on the wing. Press firmly into place.
Take the leading-edge conduit and line up the two holes in the pipe with the matching pins on the wing as shown and press the conduit into the pins.
Finally, take the wing-root brace and line up the two holes on the back with the matching pins on the wing as shown. Press the brace firmly into place.
This stage is now complete. Store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.
