Batteries look fine as anything with a continuous drain rate of over 3A is ok as Tomick has pointed out i stand corrected you have to run through all the connections and check there ok

I have rebuilt all wiring 3 times and check all labels 3 times, still same result red light constantly on, on start up hops forward but no head turn it then whistles and arms extend, losing patients now as lots of money and time spent for a door stop. There must be some pins I can check voltages with multimeter to diagnose which bit is actually the problem?

The User Guide on page 22 indicates that constant red light on is battery level at less than 20%. Possibly your batteries are not holding their capacity charge?

Did you charge the batteries individually first, they take around 4 hours each, using the charger unit supplied?

I do have some other batteries but they are protected so I don't think they will prove anything if I try them, even more confused and frustrated now. If I put him on charge will it stop charging automatically??? Or is the charging sensor not working too???

Don’t use the protected one as that will cause other problems, but it does look to point to a battery issue.

So from what I can grasp from the above, at start up he will not jerk forward and then the head turns from side to side and he beeps/chirps. You now have full battery power and fully working charged batterys. When you use the app some things function but not others but more works with the app in use. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

You could try a replacement MCU board, order a replacement from C/S. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Can you confirm the following for me for clarity,
1. When your R2 is on batt power only and you switch on you get a solid red status light (stage 1) and the unit doesn't go to start up stage 2 & 3. Your app shows 0% batt power?
2. When you connect R2 to the mains adapter, does your R2 go through the complete startup routine stages 1-3 and no solid red status light. Your app shows 100% batt power?
Regards
Alan

I had exactly the same issue. Batteries 100% but re-checked with the supplied battery tester/charger, all batteries were ok. R2 jumps forward, red light comes on but head didn't turn, then LCD displays flash. I noticed that when it jumped forward on start up, it was one sided as if it was about to do a circle, looking closer, I noticed only the left leg had a blue light lit. I then removed both motor covers on the legs to check they were both plugged in correctly and that the cable colours were the same on each leg, they were. I then removed the rear cover (disconnecting the speaker) and then swapped the motor cables round (L.FM and R.FM - see pictures) on the main board to see if it was a fault with the board, or the right leg motor/wiring. The right leg worked ok when plugged into the left leg socket, so it looked like a faulty board.i then plugged the left leg into the right socket but this also worked, so I plugged everything back where it should be, but noticed that although the plug was fully plugged in, this does not mean that each pin in the plug was pushed fully home. So I took a small pointed pick and individually pushed all of the pins fully home. Powered up and everything then worked and has been now for almost a week. This is the same for all pins in all of the plugs (see before & after picture examples), it seems that if R2 has registered a fault, then the LCD displays flash to inform you of this, once this happens, he won't continue or at least not correctly dependant on the fault.
