Fitted the 3 molding strips to the hull. The Prow was then fitted. I also built and planked the upper, middle and lower stern gallery decks.

Thanks for all the kind comments

Next, I fabricated the hinges and attached the rudder. The 2 Haweses were then built and installed on either side of the prow.

2 x 4 stripes were fitted along the edges of the decks. The molding just below the upper gun ports was added.

Made the 2 catheads and fitted them to the forward corners of the forecastle deck.

That's it for now.

Great job of planking the hull I quite like the variations in the wood ,it makes them look like individual planksCool

I retrieved all of the rails and columns I've built so far. Drove a nail in the bottom of each of the outside posts of each rail and the columns. I then cut off the nail heads to create spikes to hold the fixtures on deck.

The 65mm rails and 3 columns were fitted to the forecastle deck. The rest of the longer rails and last of the columns were installed on the deck just aft of the main mast hole.

That's all for now.

Built the 2 heads. I have to say that I don't care for the brass strips provided for the head bands. The material is difficult to work with and extremely hard to glue in place. They will be fitted later. Next I assembled the beakshead. Made the 20 rungs of the bow bulkhead ladders and glued them in place.

Moving on...

I made half of the gun port doors. 8 small columns were built. The beakshead was fitted and glued to the bow deck and the prow.

THIS COMPLETES PACK 8

I'll be back in about 2 weeks.

Pack 9 - Stage 92

In this stage I built Some of the gun port doors. They were painted red on the inside and stained walnut on the outside.

A ladder was assembled and cut into 2 sections, each 4 rungs tall. They were fitted to the mid deck leading to the gunwales.

Pack 9 - Stage 93

This stage found me building the rail along the midship gunwales. 2x7mm walnut strips and 14 brass columns were used. 2x2mm molding strips were added fore and aft of the bottom rail. The top rail ran from the catshead to just in front of the first round gun port.

Fitting out the decks is my second most favorite part of ship modeling. (First is actually rigging)Huh Love
