Hi all, I have just received today my Tamiya Honda 250cc 6cyl 1/12 scale, after 9 weeks. I am told that this model had been sort from Japan. The cost was £60 but to me it represents a by gone era.I will post pictures of my own because I am not sure of the copyright law. TF64. Hi Trev, Looks like a very nice kit and knowing Tamiya quality it should build up very nicely into a sweet looking model ?? Amazing to see 'Drum' brakes on a racing bike - that really shows the age of the bike !! Oh and don't know what that hairy looking stuff is behind the fairing in the background of the last photo but it does remind me of my wife's chest !! Look forward to seeing how this model progresses, good stuff mate. Kev.

Hi Trev,
Have you seen the Tamiya upgrade sets for this kit, such as metal wheel rims and spokes, seat rivets and metal shocks, I've even seen some aftermarket PE detail sets for it.

Hi Tomick, Thanks for your interest in my model, yes I have seen the upgrade for this model and ordered it from my model shop, they said to me that it will take a long time, and that is if they could get it.The reason is that this is a special model and only so many were made this time.So I have placed an order with them. (this model took 9 weeks to get) we can only hope. Regards tf64. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Some very nice work there Trev, looking very neat and tidy. Love the shade of red used and with the black frame it sets the engine off beautifully. Many thanks for the update photos, keep 'em coming when you can and I follow with interest !! Kev

Hello Trev,
Loving what you are doing with this project mate and watching the build with great interest!! I would love to see more when you have the time, so keep up the good work, cracking build mate and I love what the upgrades bring to it as well!!
I agree what you say about that seat as well, it does look a little too high at the rear fairing, maybe you could remove the upright part of the seat with a really sharp, fresh scalpel then carefully trim the bottom edge away and refit until it follows the same line as the top of the fairing? It would be easier to build the bottom of the fairing up with plastic card until it is the same height as the seat back and then respray it, than it would be to start cutting the nicely moulded seat and possibly end up ruining it? It could actually be that the seat is right and the it's the fairing that is too small? Just a thought!!
I would look for reference photos first though before doing any cutting just to make sure which bit it is that needs adjusting, seat or fairing or whether it is indeed that high in reality mate?
All the best,
Kev
